{"id":66,"date":"2019-11-29T10:32:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-29T15:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wbuarchived.mydev.ca\/?page_id=66"},"modified":"2020-10-08T12:18:00","modified_gmt":"2020-10-08T17:18:00","slug":"members-and-partners","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wbuarchived.mydev.ca\/?page_id=66","title":{"rendered":"Members and Partners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">In 1984, the World Blind Union had 60 member countries but the number rose to approximately 190 countries over the last 25 years, with over 500 organizations included in our membership.\u00a0WBU &#8216;s membership consists of organizations from all six continents and is classified into different categories:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"..\/members-and-partners\/membership-information\/\">National members<\/a> (including &#8220;Grouped&#8221; and &#8220;Special&#8221; members);<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"..\/members-and-partners\/membership-information\/international-members\/\">International members;<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"..\/members-and-partners\/membership-information\/associate-members\/\">Associate members;<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"..\/members-and-partners\/membership-information\/honorary-life-members\/\">Honorary Life members\u200b<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Members are listed under their region.\u00a0The six WBU regions are:\u00a0Africa,\u00a0Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe,\u00a0Latin America and North America and the Caribbean.\u00a0The membership lists for each\u00a0region\u00a0is available under the &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldblindunion.org\/members-and-partners\/membership-information\/\">Membership Categories<\/a>\u200b&#8217; section or the &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/worldblindunion.org\/about\/contact\/\">Contact Us<\/a>&#8216; section.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">This section provides information to organizations that are interested in being part of the World Blind Union.\u00a0 Please click on the sidebar links to find out more information about: Membership Categories, the Application Process and how to become a member, Download an Application Form, and other relevant Information for Members.\u00a0For additional information please contact the WBU office at: <a href=\"mailto:info@wbu.ngo\">info@wbu.ngo\u200b<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Benefits of WBU Membership<\/h2>\n<div>There are many benefits to being involved with the World Blind Union.\u00a0First and foremost is affiliation to the organization that is internationally recognized as the global voice representing the needs and views of blind and partially sighted persons at the global level.
