Disability Data Toolkit<\/strong>\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n On 21 October, CBM Global Disability Inclusion along with the Stakeholder Group of Persons with Disabilities and the International Disability Alliance officially launched the very first comprehensive Disability Data advocacy toolkit at a session during the UN virtual World Data Forum. The aim of this toolkit is to contribute to the growing global dialogue on the importance of data on persons with disabilities, specifically to provide some basic knowledge on data collection, analysis, and use of data for evidenced based advocacy to influence policy and decision makers.\u00a0Read more\u200b<\/a><\/p>\n Documenting Kenya\u2019s Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities(CRPD)<\/strong><\/p>\n This national\u00a0 report, commissioned by the World Blind Union\u00a0 (WBU) in collaboration with the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and the Kenya Union of the Blind (KUB), documents Kenya\u2019s implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in Compliance with the CRPD. It examines the extent to which Kenya\u2019s activities aimed at achieving the goals and targets set out in the SDGs include and consider people with disabilities and that they comply with its commitments under the CRPD. This is in line with WBU\u2019s priority of engaging with members, Disabled People\u2019s Organisations, international development organizations and other stakeholders to protect and promote the human rights of blind and partially sighted persons to ensure they are fully included in the national development agenda.<\/p>\n Accessibility of Video Conferencing Apps and Services<\/strong><\/p>\n The purpose of this document is for United Nations staff and partners to make their video conferences as inclusive as possible for all persons with disabilities. The Stakeholder Group of Persons with Disabilities gathered the following information from representative organizations of persons with disabilities, in particular from the International Disability Alliance and its members, and from additional research. Accessibility of Video Conferencing Apps and Services-Updated 23 Oct 2020<\/a><\/p>\n WBU-ICEVI Webinar – Promoting Inclusive Education in time of COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n The World Blind Union (WBU) and the International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) conducted a webinar\u00a0on\u00a029 July 2020\u00a0on “Promoting Inclusive Education in the time of COVID-19″<\/strong>. It was an opportunity to share inclusive education advocacy tools and best practices based on the International Disability Alliance (IDA)\u00a0Inclusive Education Global Report<\/a>\u00a0and the linkage with\u00a0UNESCO\u2019s 2020 Global Education Monitoring Report (GEM Report)<\/a>. Discussions\u00a0focused on COVID-19 challenges in education and the Reports\u2019 Relevance and Perspectives for the Education of Learners with Visual Impairments.<\/p>\n Panelists included the WBU President Dr. Fred Schroeder, ICEVI President Dr. Frances Gentle, the ICEVI Chief Executive Officer Dr. M.N.G.
