Introduction<\/h3>\n

The European Blind Union (EBU) is WBU’s Regional Union for Europe. EBU is a non-governmental, non profit-making European organization founded in 1984. One of the six regional bodies of the World Blind Union, it is the only organization representing the interests of blind and partially-sighted people in Europe. EBU provides a European platform for its membership to share views, expertise and information and to act together on matters of common interest. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Executive Body<\/h3>\n

The EBU is led by a board consisting of 5 officers (President, first and second vice presidents, treasurer and secretary general) and up to 8 ordinary members. They are elected by the EBU membership at the General Assembly for the period of four years. Board members are accountable to the General Assembly. All board members are blind or partially sighted. Campaigns<\/h3>\n

EBU carries out ongoing campaigns at EU level on key issues to our community to ensure that EU law takes into account as fully as possible our rights and demands for an inclusive society with equal opportunities for all. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Making information accessible for all<\/h3>\n

The European Blind Union asks that information is accessible to anyone, including blind and partially sighted people, and at the same time and at no additional cost. In this publication we focus on the accessibility of printed and electronic documents intended for a broad audience including websites, books, invoices, letters, leaflets etc. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n
